What is Flag for Review in WebCheckout?

Flag for Review is a WebCheckout status that lets staff mark an item as needing attention, like a cracked case or missing part, without taking it offline. The note appears automatically at both pickup and return, so nobody has to remember it. Staff can override a flag inside WebCheckout, but patrons cannot book a flagged item through Patron Portal at all.

How does Overdue Buffer Mode affect future reservations?

Overdue Buffer Mode is a WebCheckout setting that controls whether, and for how long, an overdue item affects reservations still to come. It doesn't excuse late returns or let anyone pick up equipment that isn't actually back, but it stops one late item from canceling several future bookings. Institutions typically turn it on to cut the ticket spikes that build up at the end of a semester.

Why did WebCheckout change its scheduling conflict error messages?

The June 2026 release replaced a generic "unable to schedule due to conflict" message with one that names the real issue, whether every unit of a resource type is already in use or a genuine overlapping reservation exists. This update applies in both WebCheckout and Patron Portal. As a result, patrons can often fix their own scheduling problem without a trip to the front desk.
